“We all know what Tino Best is like. Whatever he does, you can guarantee it will be exciting and full of drama,” Sammy observed. “I remember in the morning, when we were warming up, the coach said 'Tino, I need a 25 from you today and I am not talking about
25 overs - I know you can give me that'.”
“And he went out there and gave the coach 95, that was really pleasing to watch.”
Best came into the tour as a replacement for Shannon Gabriel, who suffered a stress reaction in his back late into the first Test at Lord’s. He was rested for the second match of the series, and the management decided to send him back to Trinidad & Tobago
for rest and rehabilitation. As a result, Best was recalled to the squad.

Best was the last up to bat, but the number 11 batsman put forth an unexpected display, smashing a record-breaking 95, in addition to establishing a 143-run last-wicket stand with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/D-Ramdin-c1299 (107), which got their side up to a substantial 426.
Best’s 95 became the all-time highest score in Test cricket by a number 11 batsman, and the highest score in a last-wicket stand in the history of West Indies Test cricket (as well as the third highest of all-time).
What looked to be shaping up to be Best’s maiden Test century was cut short by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AJ-Strauss-c964, bringing the Windies’ innings to an
end at 426.
In addition to a stellar batting performance, Best also managed to pick up 2 for 37. His efforts, however, were not able to earn his side a win, and after having the lost the first two Tests of the series to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013, the third Test ended on a draw when rain
stopped play on the fifth and final day.
