Question:

Beta results didn't come back yet, what should I do if...?

I'm currently 8 days late for AF, I had blood work done yesterday and the results were supposed to come back today but they didn't. I got the blood work done b/c I keep getting BFNs but no AF in sight.

If the beta comes back negative and I am indeed not pregnant AND I get no AF, how do I keep trying? When is day 1? I mean, my doc gave me a Rx for Provera just in case but isn't that just a hormone induced AF that is similar to the hormone induced AF that you get with birth control thats technically not your "real" cycle?

Totally confused, anxious and tired!

  1. Using provera induces a cycle because it rises progesterone in your system (it actually is progesterone) and because you take it for 7 days in a row then stop (usually) you get a bleed after. It should reset this cycle and you can begin again. A lot of women have to use provera to end a cycle, don't be too concerned, as long as your hormones follow suit you will be fine to start ttc as soon as AF ends.
