Betfair Celebration Mile finalizes its list of horses with absence of Excelebration
The Group 2 race, scheduled on Saturday on the 27th of August, 2011, has finalized its entries. Excelebration, the most prominent star of this show, is not taking part in the race covering the distance of 1 mile.
Although the three-year-old bay colt was given a summer break by his trainer, back in June for the Betfair Celebration Mile, trainer Marco Botti has decided that he will take part in the Prix de la Foret, a French Group 1 race held every year in the last
week of September.
Since 1967, Betfair Celebration Mile is being scheduled every year in the month of August, restricted for Thoroughbreds aged three or above.
Son of Exceed And Excel out of Sun Shower, Excelebration recently won a purse of £45,368.00 in the Group 2 CGA Hungerford Stakes against nine contenders. Among them are few Thoroughbreds which are in the final list of the Betfair Celebration Mile to be held
at Goodwood.
The list has been finalized for the 1 mile race.
Trainer Saeed Bin Suroor’s Poet’s Voice is the first name in the seven entries.
Since the past twelve months, the 4-year-old has not made his owner proud, but this time the trainer and the owner are expecting an amazing run from him.
Trainer Clive Cox’s six-year-old brown stallion Beacon Lodge, who was defeated by Excelebration in the Group 2 CGA Hungerford Stakes, held on the 13th of august 2011, is standing at the second position in the entry list.
It might have been a tough competition for Beacon Lodge at Goodwood this Saturday, if Excelebration’s name was also in the entry list.
Dubawi Gold the three-year-old chestnut colt, who finished fourth in the Group 2 CGA Hungerford Stakes, is placed at third position in the entry list.
Dubawi Gold is trained by Richard Hannon, a famous horse trainer who has trained known champion Strong Suit, winner of Group 3 Jersey Stakes and the Group 2 BET 365 Lennox Stakes.
Fourth position in the list is held by Premio Loco, the seven-year-old chestnut Galileo who is well trained by Chris Wall for the big day.
The Irish stallion Emerald Commander, winner of the Skybet Supporting The Yorkshire Racing Summer Festival Pomfret Stakes (Listed Race), held on the 24th of July 2011, is all set for the Betfair Celebration Mile.
Trainer Saeed Bin Suroor’s four-year-old bay colt, is holding the fifth position in the entry list, following with Set The Trend at the sixth position.
Trainer Andrew Balding’s 5-year-old stallion has been the winner of the West Sussex County Times On House Stakes (Listed Race), this time he is trained to win the purse in the Betfair Celebration Mile for owner Corbett Stud. Last one in the entry list for
the famous event is trainer Ed Walker’s seven-year-old Riggins.
