Betfred Eclipse Trial Stakes Preview
There will be three trial stakes raced Monday at Nottingham in preparation for the Betfred Eclipse first round heats, which begin on 29 November. The £8000 final will be raced on 9 December.
The Betfred Eclipse Trial Stakes 20:36
Westmead Osprey will race from the first trap on this race. He is often the favourite in his races, but the field in this race is impressive with Reluctant, Tudor Prince, and All That Noise all racing against Osprey.
In trap two is Deanridge Rage, who hasn’t won a race since winning back-to-back races on 15 and 22 July.
Head Iton Ellis has won four races in a row, including a 1 length victory over Deadridge Rage on 27 July. He’ll race from trap three.
Reluctant won the Stadium Bookmakers 480m Trophy on 1 November, and his trainer, Charlie Lister, will be hoping for another strong performance from him in the Betfred Eclipse. He’ll start in the fourth trap.
In trap five is Tudor Prince, who finished in last place in the Keith Swain Manchester Puppy Cup Final on 21 October after falling on the first bend. He was the favourite in that race, and should perform well on Monday in this race.
All That Noise will race from the sixth trap. He finished in fifth place in the Silver Salver Final on 11 November. He was a 10-1 longshot in that race against a strong group of racers.
The Betfred Eclipse Trial Stakes 20:52
Kinda Ready will race from trap one in the second trial stakes. Ready has beaten some strong racers in his career including Tyrur Big Mike and Thurlesbeg Joker. He should manage a top three finish in this race.
In trap two is Highview Shadow. He’s steadily moved up race classes throughout his young career, and could establish himself as a hound to watch in the Betfred Eclipse.
Mcgahon Toots has wins and last place finishes in his past few races. It will be tough for him to win this race against a strong group. He’ll race from trap three.
Lenson Jimmy has one career victory so far in his young career. He raced from trap six in his past two, and will race from trap four in this race. It’s only the second time he’s raced from that trap, the first time he finished fourth.
Munster Champ had won four out of five races before finishing in last place in the All England Cup semi-finals. He’ll be looking to make up for that disappointing finish. He’ll race from trap five.
In trap six is Mill Jaguar, who should be favoured to win this race. He’s another of Lister’s hounds, and already has one win in these trail stakes.
The Betfred Eclipse Trial Stakes 21:07
In trap one is Bandicoot Frisky, Lister’s third hound entered in these trial stakes. He won the Caffreys National Oaks on 12 September.
Little Gaffer is another good racer. He finished in fifth place after a collision with Yahoo Jamie in the All England Cup final on 10 November. He had won the semi-final a few days before that. He’ll race from trap two.
In trap three is Proud Dodge. He hasn’t won a race since 11 September, and probably won’t end that streak on Monday.
Parkmore Elite will race from trap four. He manages the odd win, but usually finishes somewhere in the middle of the pack.
Destroy The Camp finished in second place in the Primus Telecom Henlow Derby Final on 21 October, and will be one of the favourites to win the Betfred Eclipse. He’ll go from the fifth trap.
In trap six is Risky Skipper. He won back-to-back races at Hall Green on 24 and 31 August after getting off to poor starts in both those races. He probably won’t be able to recover from a slow start in this race however.
