Betfred Steel City Cup champion, Mill Bling Bling swiftly made himself enter into the draw for finals
Three-year-old black dog, Mill Bling Bling, gave an amazing hit on Tuesday evening at Sheffield. The champ reached the finish line in a very short time, making himself the star of the show.
Betfred Steel City Cup's first semifinal was held on the 16th of July with five greyhounds competing against each other in the Open Race.
Mill Bling Bling, son of Bombastic Shiraz out of Respect For Lee, had his last victory in a 480 meters race in July.
Under trainer K A Macari, Mill BLing BLing started his chase from trap 2. His run was fast from the beginning of the race, leaving all other contenders behind and leading the race till the finish line.
The Irish greyhound reached the wire in 28 minutes and 96 seconds and his swiftness made his contender, Tudor Prince, finish 90 seconds after him as the runner-up.
Tudor Prince, the winner of Betfred.com British Bred Standard Trophy, held at the Nottingham race course, on the 3rd of August, 2011, was not lucky enough to win this race.
The son of Westmead Hawk out of Old Fold, Tudor Prince was 1 ¼ lengths behind Mill Bling Bling.
He started his chase from trap 5, and remained in the crowd of other three contenders to finish second in the race. Tudor Prince covered his distance in 29 minutes and 6 seconds.
Frisby Fontenblu, who finished third in the race, started his chase from trap 1. The black dog tried his level best to race as fast as he could, but unluckily he was not able to compete with the other strong contenders.
Son of Droopys Vieri out of Droopys Perlena, Frisby Fontenblu, reached the finish line in 29 minutes and 18 seconds. The four-year-old was 1 ½ length behind Tudor Prince.
The brindle dog, Clerihan Gold, who finished fourth in the race, was 1 ½ lengths behind Frisby. Trainer J Sharp’s three-year-old hound reached the wire in 29 minutes and 30 seconds.
The last position holder, who finished fifth in the Open Race, was Saint Jack trained by B J Harris. He was far away from the rest of the contenders.
The white and black dog reached the wire in 29 minutes and 50 seconds, 2 ½ lengths shy of Clerihan Gold.
The victor of the race, Mill Bling Bling, who defeated his four contenders, won the purse of £200 and made trainer K A Macari proud of him.
The lucky dog has entered into the draw for the finals, scheduled on Tuesday. Apart from Mill Bling Bling, there are four more greyhounds selected for the draw, Droopys Cristian, Ballymac Xavi, Tudor Prince and Sport Fortune.
