Beth Hollett slaughters Wenx Hansen in Women’s Singles clash at Ede Clendinnen Shield Sydney
Australia’s Beth Hollett, representing Western Australia, showed her hard-to-learn skills as she toppled her opponent Wenx Hansen of Queensland Titans in Women’s Singles fight at the 2012 Ede Clendinnen Shield Sydney in Australia, on Tuesday, August 28.
The in-form Beth, who has been showing her fabulous craft in all contests in the championship, played with remarkable control in her match against Wenx and remained successful in winning this fight in a commanding manner.
Beth showed her lofty skills in the whole match as she played planned and positive badminton and emerged as the winner by ending up the match in straight games of 23 minutes with a phenomenal difference on the board.
On the contrary, Wenx also showed glimpses of her brilliance by executing powerful smashes and net play but she failed to live up to the expectations in the ending points of both games and eventually knelt down to Beth without clinching any game.
The opening points of first set were quite interesting as both shuttlers showed a wonderful performance by taking the bird early and pushed each other in all areas of the court.
They did not miss any chance to earn points while remaining fully focused on court and remained close until the end of opening half.
After the mid-game interval, Beth started to work well at net and also pushed her rival in all corners by driving the bird with incredible control.
The impressive Beth built a reasonable lead in the concluding points and managed to wind up the opening set with a reasonable 21-18 score on the board.
In the second set, the spirited Beth continued showing her tremendous skills without facing any considerable opposition from her rival and remained in strong position.
Until the mid-game break in second set, the in-form Beth was completely in command as she set up a wonderful gap on score board.
After the break, Beth continued playing in the similar fashion as she did not lose her focus and ended up the set with a wonderful margin of 21-14.
The incredible Beth emerged as victorious in straight games with a 21-18 and 21-14 margin on score board.
