Betinboots, the most convincing entry for the William Hill Stayers Maiden Trophy at Nottingham
The William Hill Stayers Maiden Trophy is to be hosted by Nottingham over 680 metres flat on Monday, 26th March. Ready to reel in for the wire tonight are Clonmoyle Rover, Lough Master, Bandicoot Lulu, Betinboots, Wonder Girl and Fabulous Tally.
With astounding chances for victory tonight is Betinboots, Dinny Joe’s three-year-old black and white daughter out of b***h Air Lass. Out of the nine times she ventured into the new season, Betinboots won thrice, scored second thrice, finished sixth twice
and then once encountered a fifth position.
Betinboots’ seasonal debut was in the New Year 550 Maiden Dup on 5th January at Henlow over 550 metres. She was the last to leave the track while the race was won by Deanridge Rage. The 5/4 favourite runner up of the race was Bubbly Ebony.
She won for the first time on 2nd February over 420 metres at Peterborough, a distance that she raced through in 25.60 seconds. Betinboots led the runner up, Feurama, by 2 ¼ lengths.
Instead of attaching strings to the victory that she had bagged, Betinboots lost the next two races and then resurfaced on 2nd March in the Grade S1 605 metres flat at Peterborough. The winner went across the wire in 37.66 seconds and was in a
close contention with the runner up, Monleek Bay, who was only at a head’s distance.
The 7/4 favourite of the race, Lissakyle Dancer, finished fourth behind the winner.
The third and till yet last victory of the season for Betinboots was in the Grade S1 605 metres flat on 9th March. The winner was on the other end of the wire in 37.75 seconds with just half a length’s margin from the runner up, Surelines Answer.
The 4/7 favourite of the race, Turibius, managed the third position behind the winner after taking 37.87 seconds to complete the trip.
She could not strike a hat trick as on 16th March in the Grade S1 605 metres flat at Peterborough as it was won by Shirty Gerty who was done with the distance in 37.76 seconds with 5 ¾ lengths under her belt.
Betinboots’ tenth start promises her the fourth victory of the season.
