Betta Eggs?

Question

For every egg there will be a fry? I see a few eggs and maybe some are in the nest....I think. She didn't release a lot, so it seems. I was there for the spawn, it was interesting. Thank you

some eggs will be infertile, so no, there will not be 1 fry for every single egg, but you should get a decen ammount of fry. Yes, the eggs are in the bubble nest. did you remove the female??is the male guarding the eggs in the nest???wow how exiting..congrats on the new babies..:)

Not necessarily - you will only get fry if:

1) the egg was fertilized by the male (most should be, but there may be an occassional one that's not)

2) the egg is placed in and remains in the bubble nest for most of the development (if an egg isn't placed in the nest by the male, it won't develop properly - that's one of the reasons a bare-bottom tank is used for spawning, so no eggs are trapped in the gravel; if an egg falls out of the bubble nest and isn't placed back by the male within a reasonable time, the same will happen)

3) either parent eats the egg

And just because the eggs hatch, doesn't mean all fry will grow to adulthood - in fact, I think you'll find that getting the eggs to hatch is the easier part - caring for the fry, espcecially feeding them, is where most will be lost.
