They're about a week old and there's about 200-300 of them maybe ?

Anyways, the male is doing a good ob taking care of them, and they seem to be staying alive.

When do I remove the male, and when do I seperate the fry ?

  1. You should have already removed the male as soon as they where free swimming. You separate aggressive males once you notice aggression which usually happens about the 5 week line.

  2. some of females or males will try to eat their own frys but urs seems to be really nice. but if u see any sign of ur male poking on frys or eating, remove the male quickly to other tank.

  3. You can remove the male once the fry are free swimming, although leaving him with the fry for another day or two will do no harm. The fry can stay together for several weeks, as long as they have enough space to grow, typically you might need to move them to larger quarters in a few weeks time. And once the male starts to develop, which can be observed from their developing fins and showing signs if aggression amongst each other, then it is time to separate them. The females though can be kept together.
