I have a Betta, I named him bubbles because the first few days I had him all he did was blow bubbles at the top of the tank, anyways I don't know much about Betta, this is the first that I have owned. Is their p**p supposed to be a pinkish red color? I have mostly ever owned gold fish... I never see my Betta pooping like you do gold fish, but I was wondering about this because there are little curd like looking things down in the rocks and I don't know what it is. It is much too much to be food that has floated down.

  1. The bubbles at the top of your tank was a bubble nest. Fish p**p all different colors, not just brown. Try feeding your betta three pieces of food a day.

There isn't anything to be worried about.

  2. It could be what your feeding him. Is the food colored or anything? That could be it. But if not, look on him look for worms or anything. Sometimes it can be internal infection. But theyre is probabl nothing to worry about.

Those bubbles were  a bubble nest :)

  3. Hey Lil T :-),

It all depends on what you have fed him.  When i feed my fish flake or pellets they are always brown poo's but if i feed cucumber or sweet potato they vary in colour, but like your own, you drink red wine, they are dark, you eat loads of salad, they are tan.  Sorry for sounding crude :-)  Just trying to explain.  I assure you it is nothing to worry about.

Bubbles Nest:  All males build these.  Its there love haven to have there way with there lady underneath, then when he has used and dumped her he puts all his eggs here and tends to them till they hatch.  Amazing to watch, check out some Betta Breeding vids on youtube.

    Hope this helps :-)

  4. Try and cut down on feeding or just skip a day. It will not hurt your betta. You're betta made a bubble nest. It is what they do to breed. If you are going to maybe breed them you have to do lots of research! Hope I helped!

  5. bettas blowing bubbles is a sign that there horny as h**l...lol
