Question:

Betta and Rainbowshark?

In a 5 gallon tank.

I think its a bad idea....right?

  1. Bad idea.

    The Rainbow shark will grow too big for that tank, and is likely to beat up the betta in such cramped conditions. Think 20gal+ tanks for rainbow and red tail sharks.

    Just stick with the betta, much less hassle.

  2. At 6", the Rainbow Shark will get WAY too big for a 5 gallon tank, needing a 30ish gallon tank in the very near future.  Also, the Betta's long fins would be VERY easy targets for the fast, aggressive shark.  Maybe try a few pygmy Cories instead.

  3. Yes.  A 5 gallon can only fit one betta.  Even if the shark and betta got along, it would be too squishy!
