Betta fish and snails?

Hey does anyone know if betta fish and snails can get along in a 2.1 gallon tanks?

  1. Definitely not. Two gallons is not large enough to humanely house a betta, let alone a betta and a snail. Snails generate a tremendous amount of waste, probably more than triple the waste that a betta generates. You'd have to change the water in a two gallon tank daily to keep the water healthy. Also, keep in mind that many bettas WILL attack and injure snails. I've owned many and most of them could not tolerate snails. If you'd like a betta fish and a snail, first make sure that your betta can be tolerant of one. And put them both in a tank that is at least 6 gallons.
