  1. he's getting use to his tank, and he's prolly seeing how long it takes him to go up for air. it's completely normal

  2. dosent sound like itsa problem because first of all too little info and second is that its a tall tank and not very wide so i wouldnt think its something wrong, but just change water alot, add aquarium salt, and probably turn up tempertaure as with colder temperature it slows them down. if you need any help email me and id be glad to help a fellow frienbd with a betta.

  3. As I said in your other question, it's perfectly normal. He's just figuring out his new territory, and figuring out the boundaries of his tank.

  4. No, he sounds completely healthy!!! It means he's active. I have a baby halfmoon in a 3 gallon tank and he swims back and fourth, all day.

When your fishy comes up, drop a pellet of food, if he eats it, drop a few more. He may just be hungry.

Good luck with your new friend
