How often should I change my Betta's water? My Betta (Slash, named after the guitarist, lol) is currently residing in a one-gallon aquarium.

Additionally, how much of the water should I change each time?

  1. Change the whole thing one a week/one every two weeks....

  2. I agree with zootycoon, change 25% once a week.

  3. You should do a water change weekly for such a small tank.

Use a siphon to siphon out at least %50 of the water, vacuuming the gravel. Replace the water with fresh.

Every two or three weeks, do a complete water change (remove the fish to a cup, rinse all plants and gravel, replace with all fresh water).

When adding new water, make sure it is the same temperature as the water you removed. Sudden changes in temp can cause the betta stress and cause illness.

  4. 1 gallon only..

Should be about 3-4 days once...

  5. Every week or 2 weeks to be clean. Clean about 25% or 10% everyweek with a graveel vacuum.

  6. DO NOT change all of the water. It'll remove the beneficial bacteria that remove the poisonous ammonia and nitrite that the waste produces.

Change 25% of the water every week. You would usually do it with a gravel siphon, but if it's in that small of a tank, you can just ise a turkey baster and suck up the p**p.

    E-mail me for any questions!

  7. i would change all of the water. i dont have beta, but it helps if you change all of the water and put cleanser in there.
