Question:

Bettas and Guppies...?

well here's the deal. I'm soon going to get some fish for a 30 litre tropical tank and i would like to get a male guppy and a male betta (simply because they look nicer and more colourful than the females).

the problem is that i think i will have to put in some females so they don't fight or go g*y.

so I'm wondering how many females i need to add to make this tank work without fights etc., and is it possible to have a male guppy and a male betta together at all?

thanks!

  1. Well if your going to have male and female guppies together, you should have more females than males, so their is less compation for a mate.

having a male betta and a male guppies could be risky, because the bright markings and the long tails could set the betta off.

I'm not sure 100% but its something to think about before adding any fish.

    Good Luck!

  2. A betta would see a male guppy as another betta and shred it to pieces. Bad idea.

  3. I wouldn't put males and female guppies in a tank together. Before you know it your tank is going to be over stuffed. And also the betta will fight with the others. Don't do it. Get either one Guppy or one Betta. Not both.
