  1. Yess unless introduces prporley for breeding. After the eggs are layed the female must be taken out and once the fry are free swiming the male must be removed also, so no you can not keep them together or else the make might kill the female or the female might kill the male.

  2. Generally, the male will try to court the female and if the female is not responsive, he will attack the female. But if they are both matured and are properly conditioned, they will mate and reproduce.

  3. Yes, if your trying to mate them, you have to pull them out once they are done mating or the male will kill the female. I wouldn't suggest mating bettas though unless you have hundreds of mason jars and a whole lot of time and patience.

If you want to put bettas in together, get females. Just make sure to give them plenty of room, since some can be territorial.

  4. yes, i had a female and male at one point. they did that puffy thing when they get mad and then they got a long. then around 3-4 months later they fought. my male one died first because he was badly injured. then 1 week later my female one died. ): so yeah, but the best thing to do is just to keep them a part! (:

  5. yeh its true i tried to breed bettas and my female was brutally killed! by the male!

  6. Yes this is true males are very aggressive so this will happen to both sexes ....but you can put females together
