Better Be The One heading for the Al Quoz Sprint after the two races in February in the Dubai World Cup Carnival
The six-year-old Better Be The One, the bay gelding of More Than Ready out of Common Smytzer, is coming down to UAE to take part in the Group 1 $1million 2012 Al Quoz Sprint.

This thoroughbred race is held at the Meydan Racecourse annually, and is one of the most important races during the course of the Dubai World Cup Carnival. It is raced over a distance of 1,000 metres.
The Sprint has been won by J J The Jet Plane twice, once in 2009 when he was under the training of M De Kock, and then again last year in 2011, while he was under Lucky Houdalakis’s charge.

The race could have been won twice by the same trainer only if J J The Jet Plane had remained under the same trainer.

The title for 2010 was taken away by Joy And Fun, trained by Derek Cruz.
Better Be The One has been racing since 14th March, 2009, marking his debut race along with a debut victory while clearing the stakes.

Rest of the 2009 season for Better Be The One was uneventful, with an eighth position and twice finishing sixth.
The first four races of the 2010 season for Better Be The One were defeats one after the other, but the last two starts culminated in victories.

He won the Open Benchmark 97 on 3rd December at Kranji, and bagged the next race as well, on 19th December at Kranji. Better Be The One was the evening's favourite and won the Open Benchmark 97, raced over a distance
of six furlongs.
He won the Kranji Stakes at Kranji on 6th February, 2011, where he was entered as the 6 to 5 favourite.
The last time that he raced and won was on 16th October, 2011 at Kranji, in the Group 3 Saas Fee Stakes.
Better Be The One has been consistently ridden by Danny Beasley, but in his last two races, he had Vlad Duric onboard.
Before Better Be The One races in the Group 1 Al Quoz Sprint, his trainer, Michael Freedman, has planned for two races for the six-year-old in the month of February.

The performance in the two races that he has planned would give Michael Freedman a better idea about the expected outcome of the eventual target that Better Be The One is on for.
