  1. What Goxy claims is totally not true. Albania yes is poor but no poorer than other Balkan countries and some other ex-communists nations in Europe today.

Albania is one of the poorest countries of Europe but let me show the bottom three poorest European nations for you:

Moldova - GDP worse off in Europe at $2818 and ranked 127 worldwide out of 194 nations.

Albania- GDP of $5702 Second worse in Europe 99th out of 194.

Here a very interesting one as third worse in Europe:

Serbia- GDP of  $6771 AND RANKED 92nd of 194.

Just for your records Colombia is ranked 81st in GDP worldwide with a $8091.

WHAT IS SO INTERSTING ABOUT SERBIA ONE MIGHT ASK? Let me break it down to you. unlike Albania, Serbia was part of Yugoslavia that enjoyed good trade relations with at the Warsaw pact nations and also western nations. Yugoslavia had  as a result of this one of highest living standards than all communists countries at the time. Albania was ran just like a maximum security prison, I'm talking about the entire country with different security levels it was a communist experiment, a prison state the largest ever recorded in human history and this the reason why Albania is poor.

Serbia on the other hand is poor due to its corruption, thievery, and wars it brought on to its neighbors. Where did all the money go? Milosevic and his cronies have stolen it all and now Serbs are still wondering what took place.

What is worse being poor because you were in prison and if you tried to escape and got caught it meant sure death? Or being poor because you were dooped into believing that an old empire with be restored at the expense of your neighbors and being robbed blind in front of your eyes and here is the worse thing about it they are so blind that they think of themselfs as victims but not from their corrupt leaders but by Western powers.

Goxy take your statics and shove in your BOOTAY because they are not true.

  2. hmm,very interesting question?

am i the only one i see no connection between them,or my knowledge of geography isn't enough for this brilliant question!

p.s.you just start using yahoo answers and already cares about Albania?why i have this strong feeling that its ivet behind this question?i really wonder why!

  3. Don't know much about Albania, but Colombia is really a great country, with great people.

In spite of all the tradegy, natural and man-made disasters, things are improving very nicely. It is a modern miracle that Colombia, in spite of all the adversity, still has a rapidly growing economy.

  4. I have visited both countries, and living, social and economic standards in colombia are better.

eventhough I would say life standards in colombia can be higher than in japan...

  5. Albania is the poorest country in Europe. An estimated 5% of the population live on an income of less than $1 a day and 25% of the population live below the national poverty line of $2 a day. It is estimated that 40% of the population have no access to basic services such as education, water, sanitation and heating.

  6. Definitely Colommbia. Check out this article that was published in BusinessWeek this week (May 28, 2007):

Colombia is the next big thing in international business.
