Question:

Better ballet arch needed asap!?

I am a very serious dancer, but my arch is horrible! Many of my ballet teachers have told me that I could go on pointe in September if I strengthen my ankles and make my arch better. I know therabands work really well, and I am going to get one as soon as I get back (I am currently in south america), but I just need tips that don't involve equipdment ( I know I spelled that wrong, sorry!!) so that my arch will be good enough for me to go en Pointe in september. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. every time you sit down, try and point your toes and if your feet are on the ground, point your feet and tuck them under you so they are piercing against the ground. but make sure their not crooked but in the proper ballet position. and to strengthen your ankles...do MANY relavayes (sound it out, makes sence) and things related.

  3. TRY ARCH SUPPORTS AND EXERCISES. THEY HAVE DONE WONDERS FOR MY HUBBY

  4. For arch: just point your toes anytime your standing. Like I used to just hold a conversation with people and point my toes as hard as I could and then in the mirror I would do my tendu to the side and look at how much it got better.

    For ankles: Do your releves in first, second, fourth, and fifth position and then stand on your left leg with your right in passe and plie' about 45 times and then vice verse.

    Hope I helped, I had to do all of these and still are!

    :) I can almost walk  and stand on my toes and I've been doing it for 3 wks. now?? and I already see improvement. It also helps you get stronger calves!!!

  6. well... i don't know if you're supposed to do this but hey it worked for me. you know how there's a gap between the bottom of your couch and the floor? i put the front of my feet under the couch and kept my legs straight and laid down. it really hurts, but it gets the job done.
