Better books that the Sword of Truth series?

I greatly enjoyed the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. Are there any other books or series of the same ilk that are as good or better?

the 'Dark Tower' series (Stephen King) is often compared with 'Sword of Truth', as is George R. R. Martin's series-in-progress, the first of which is 'The Game of Thrones'. Robert Jordan wrote his fantasy epic but he died before it was completed, so I don't know if you want to start that. And obviously there's always Lord of the Rings.

Sword of Truth was awesome, wasn't it? I don't know how I feel about the last book, but honestly Wizard's First Rule, Stone of Tears, and Faith of the Fallen are some of the greatest fantasy ever.
