  1. The Marlins got the better end of the deal and will for years to come. What Boston could do with HanRam and Sanchez right now.Hanley Ramirez is easily becoming the best player in baseball. He is the likes of a player Boston has never had the privledge of having in their batting order.Just think how manny RBIs and homers Manny,Ortiz and HanRam would have had.Hanley on first with Manny up to bat what a distraction.Immagine the pitches HanRam would get to hit.

  2. Right now the Red Sox, but overall I gotta say the Marlins

Anibal Sanches is the best pitcher there when healthy, and Hanley Rameriz is the best player in the NL, those 2 other guys were just better.

  3. Hanley Ramirez is unbelievable...but why do ball clubs trade?  To win a championship, Sox already have one under their belt w/ Beckett and Lowell.  That is the bottom line.  A solid ace in your pitching staff outweighs a 330 hitter.  A pitcher can single handly win games, Beckett has done that, especially when it counts.  Beckett had one of the best post seasons I have ever seen and Lowell won the WS MVP.  Marlins don't have the upper hand in that trade until they win 2 more WS.

  4. well as a diehard fish fan i got to tell you that it was a fair trade on both sides. cuz without lowell and beckett, the sox dont win the title, and the marlins would not have completed the trade if hanley was not included in the deal. and people forget about anibal sanchez, he pitched a no-hitter for the fish and has pitched pretty well this year after coming back from a really bad injury!!!!!

  5. This is a tough one.

I think this leans slightly (and I mean that in every sense of the word) in the Red Sox's favor because of the fact that I don't believe Anibal Sanchez is anything special. Yes he threw a no hitter but he really isn't that dominant. To me, he is more of a number 3 pitcher in his future in the Show. Obviously Hanley is one of the top 3 players in baseball right now and I can't argue against him. The other 2 prospects are dime a dozen.

But I say Red Sox because of 2 reasons. MIKE LOWELL. This trade was made as basically a Hanley for Beckett deal. If that were the case, I think the Marlins win because Hanley is so dominant while Beckett has really had 1 great year in Boston. However Mike Lowell was added as a throw in and now he is a World Champion and a World Series MVP. He was spectacular last year and is solid this year. Plus he's got a good glove. I think it's real close but the fact the Red Sox got this incredible production from what is essential a throw in tips the scale in our favor.
