Better sound?

ok i have a 97 dodge dakota standard cab and i have two tens between the the seats and cab.. why is it when i have the windows rolled down they seem to hit harder than when they are rolled up? what is an easy fix?

  1. like bigg j said there is no way around it

    your only option is to upgrade it you want it to hit harder

The reason they hit harder when the windows are down is the air pressure in the cab, especially in a small area like a truck.  When the windows are down there is less air pressure in the cab allowing the subwoofer to fully move more freely thus giving you the louder bass.  Not much you can really do about it as far as I know.  Of course I haven't worked in the industry for years.
