we have a 2 acre farm pond with brown bullheads(pickeral/golden shinners also), that see's very little fishing pressure....whenever we have a family picnic many family members like to fish for the bullheads.....is there something I could feed to the bullheads ahead of time (a few days or so) to help purge any muddy taste .....maybe something like corn/cornmeal doughballs.....what do fish farmers do for catfish before harvesting the cat's?

  1. Try soaking the fillets in milk for a half hour before you prep to cook. Or before you freeze.

  2. I've never heard of that before - they are a product of their environment - normally we eat them out of clear clean water...if it's a muddy bottom normally they have that muddy taste...sorry

  3. I never heard of anyone actually eating bullheads. For the exact reason stated above.
