About 6 months ago my grandpa was pushed from behind. He fell and injured his hip, which required surgery and hospitalization.. Now months later he started having a lot of pain in his hip again so he went back to the doctor and now they are going to do a full hip replacement.. my question is.. What kind of painkillers could he take that won't make him feel sick.. They had him on Morphine, Vicodin, and now Darvocet.. but he won't take it that much because it gives him bad nausea and he says it makes him feel sick.. IS there anything that you have tried to take away the pain without making him feel sick???

  1. SInce your Grandfather needs these powerful meds for pain, ask his Dr. to give him a Prescription for Promethezine, it is an Anti- Nausea medication that he can take every 8 hours and it works Wonders to take care of nausea caused by Narcotic Pain Meds..when giving an Injection for Pain in the ER we Never give the Narcotic alone it is always combined with an anti-nausea medication...he should also take these meds with food and a whole glass of water, this will help combat the nausea as well
