If Sadler wins at MIS, $1 million to charity: Elliott Sadler and the #19 Stanley Tools Dodge now have a million more reasons to win the Aug. 17 race at Michigan International Speedway. Primary sponsor Stanley Tools will make a $1 million donation to the Children's Miracle Network if Sadler wins the 400-mile NASCAR Sprint Cup race at MIS. The incentive is part of the "Racing for a Miracle" program created by Stanley Tools, the Ace Hardware Foundation, and Children's Miracle Network. "Racing for a Miracle" is a multi-dimensional program that benefits sick and injured kids as well as the hospitals that provide their care. In addition to the race, Sadler is encouraging Ace Hardware patrons to go to one of the country's 3,800 Ace Hardware stores during the month of August to buy a $1 "Racing for a Miracle" icon. All donations go to a local Children's Miracle Network hospital. As part of "Racing for a Miracle," Sadler will visit Sparrow Hospital, the Children's Miracle Network area hospital in Lansing, Mich. on Thursday, Aug. 14 prior to the weekend's race at MIS. He will race remote control cars with young patients, sign autographs, tour the hospital and present a special miracle child with an award for winning a helmet design contest. The program culminates at MIS that Sunday, as Elliott Sadler's #19 Stanley Tools Dodge will carry a new look on their car. The logos of Children's Miracle Network and Ace Hardware will adorn the TV panel for one race only to encourage others to continue to race money for sick and injured kids.(GEM PR)(8-11-2008)
