Betterbetterbetter hot favourite for the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Naas Oaks Trial
Betterbetterbetter is expected to dominate proceedings in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Naas Oaks Trial (Listed Race) (Fillies) at Naas in Ireland on Wednesday, June 27, 2012. The winning horse will be awarded the prize money of €32,500.
The going will be yielding in the 1 mile and 2 furlong event, which is scheduled to start at 20:00 GMT. A total of 10 runners have been reeled in, but none seems to be in better shape than, Betterbetterbetter.
The three-year-old filly does not have a lot of experience, but her performances until now have been pretty good. Due to this, she has got the attention of the bookmakers, and will most likely attract a lot of bets from the punters.
Trained by veteran, A. P. O'Brien, Betterbetterbetter started off her career positively, finishing as a runner-up in her debut race. She was given a starting price of 5 to 1 back then, and proved that she was worth it.
The Irish filly impressed one and all with her skills, thus was rated as the favourite to win her very next race. She lived up to the expectations of the bookies, and spurted well past her opponents to down the race by a convincing margin of three lengths.
However, Galileo’s daughter, out of mare Jude, failed to repeat the feat in her next race, but she still managed a solid second.
She was rated as the favourite to win yet again, but fell short by a narrow margin at the end of the day.
Overall, the favourite filly has participated in five races, winning just one of them. Whereas she has gone on to secure the runner-up spot on three occasions.
She only missed on a board finish once, which shows how good she is when it comes to closing down opponents.
Jockey J. P. O'Brien will be the one partnering, Betterbetterbetter, in the race at Naas today. He has got an impressive strike rate, and will be eying a strong show finish.
His recent form has been a touch inconsistent, thus his confidence level will be a little low.
There is a possibility that, Caponata, might manage to challenge her rivals for victory today. She has only raced once, and was victorious in it. However, things will not be easy for her at Naas.
