Betterbetterbetter leads the line-up for the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fillies Maiden at Dundalk
Dundalk will become home for the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fillies Maiden over a mile, two furlongs and 150 yards. Competing for the €8,280 purse is the line-up of ten three-year-olds.
Four among the candidates are racing their career debuts. Betterbetterbetter, Galileo’s three-year-old bay filly out of mare, Jude, has quite high chances of improvising through the second career start.
She was placed second in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund 3YO Fillies Maiden on 28th March at Leopardstown over a mile and two furlongs. Princess Highway, the 2/1 favourite winner of the race had 1 ¾ lengths under her lead.
Coming at terms with the third position was Dane Street.
The jockey will be the same, J. P. O’Brien but the race course will be different along with a few more yards to race today.
Diyala, Tiger Hill’s three-year-old bay filly out of mare, Daliya, has only one race to her credit and that too during the previous season. She ended eighth on the field of thirteen in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund 2YO Maiden on 11th
November over a mile. The race was won by Hot Bed who was soon followed by Curia Regis.
The 4/7 favourite runner up of the race, Zalantoun, concluded the race fifth.
Diyala’s seasonal debut today will be her second chance at Dundalk coupled with a break.
Emma Pavlova, Rakti’s three-year-old chestnut filly out of mare, Tripodium, has raced at Dundalk twice which actually are the only two times she has raced through her career, an attempt during the previous season and the seasonal debut for the 2012 campaign.
She ended second last on the line-up of thirteen in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund 2YO Fillies Maiden on 14th October 2011. The race was won by Stunned Silence and had the 7/4 joint favourite, Wave, in the runner up’s position.
Her seasonal debut was in the form of www.Dundalkstadium.Com 3YO Claiming Maiden on 17th February which resulted in Emma Pavlova finishing the race in the end.
The line-up is tricky in a manner that there are entries who are to race their career debuts or the seasonal debuts, keeping the element of surprise intact.
