After the 92nd PGA Championships at Whistling Straits, the PGA tour is back with yet another fascinating event at the old fashioned course of Sedgefield Country Club. It is the Wyndham Championship and it takes place on the 19th August -22nd August, 201 0 carrying a purse of $5.1 million.

Brandt Snedeker
The first person on the top of the list is the former winner of the Championship, Brandt Snedeker. His first victory at this Championship came in 2007 on the Forest Oaks course. However, when he came back to contest for the title in 2009, Brandt Snedeker lost his trophy and finished in 5th position. His overall scorecard showed 64-69-65-68.
When he was asked about the course itself, he replied that the course was magnificent and it was the best venue he could have asked for. The Sedge field Country Club is designed by Donald Ross, who is known for his old traditional designs.
It seems Brandt Snedekar is comfortable on Donald Ross designed courses, that is why his return to Aronimink at the AT&T nationals benefited him with a 16th spot finish. Moreover, this season also proved fruitful for the player, since he finished 16th in the Greenbrier Classic and settled for a modest tie for the 39th spot in the USPGA Championship.
As for his stats Brandt Snedekar has been ranked the No.1 putter on the PGA Tour this year, with the highest points in the Putting Average and Putts per Round. According to analysts, Brandt Snedkar will surely be near the Top 1 of the leader board, not to forget this time he has the advantage of playing on the Donald Ross designed course as well. So, all bets on Brandt for banking the $918,000 prize money.
Marc Leishman
The second favourite contender for the title is Marc Leishman. This Australian shares the same preference for Donald Ross designed courses and as a proof he finished at the 7th spot at Aronimink golf club in 2005. As far as his achievements are concerned he has made the cut in the Open and at the USPGA Championship but finished in the lower half of the leader board. However, his appearance at the Greenbrier Classic was recognizable with a 16th spot finish. He carded a score of 68-68-65-66 in the four rounds.
Moreover, Marc Leishman was given the title of Rookie of the Year in 2009 after he recorded eight finishes in the top 25 and banked an estimated $1.7 million. Other than this he finished second in the Torry Pines earlier this year so according to the analysts, Marc Leishman is going to mark a big victory very soon.
This was a list of favourites for the leader board of the Wyndham Championship which is due in the upcoming week of August starting from the 19th. The event is going to take place at the classical Sedgefield Country Club, North Carolina. According to experts, this event will bring a new winner to the charts and most Ryder Cup members, as the winner of the event will automatically qualify for the US team headed by Corey Pavin.
