The aftermaths of the PGA championship whisper something and it is to move on to the next PGA tour event due this week from 19th -22nd August. The Wyndham championship which is taking place at the Sedge field Country Club is in its starting phase so it is time to guess the names of the contenders who will top the leader board charts but as the Top 1 has already been presented in the first part of this betting preview, let’s proceed with the next top 3s.
Garrett Willis
The first contender on the next top 3s betting list is Garrett Willis, a player who is seen to settle in the top 25s during the last five events that took place this season. For the golf fans who followed the sessions after 2000, Willis was the winner of the 2001 Touchstone Energy Tucson Open on his first PGA Tour after which he disappeared from the face of the earth! Although he dropped down a division as a result but made a comeback with victory at the Nationwide Tour's Envirocare Utah Classics during 2005. This was followed by another victory at the 2009 WNB Golf Classic.
Regarding his performance this season, Willis started very slow, however his previous ten performances are quite appreciable as he finished 4th in the last six. At Aronimink, he finished 16th. Moving further with his achievements, he was ranked 12th this season on account of his driving accuracy and 16th in par 4 birdies. Experts predict that Willis will come in handy on the course of par 70 while keeping in view his expertise with the par 4 and long distance drives, but as he was 15th at the Sedge field Country Club last year therefore there are chances that he will finish in the top 3s this week.
Richard S Johnson
The second player on the list is the winner of the European Tour's Scandinavian Masters and also the 2008 US Bank Championship. Johnson, moreover finished 21st at The Greenbrier Classic and was tied for the 8th spot at the Turning Stone championship. He also holds the record of being 5th in putting average at the TSC.
Regarding his relevance with the Sedge field Country Club, he shot a 67 in the last 2 rounds of the 2008 championship while 64 in the third round last year. According to the experts, Johnson has a gift of tremendous accuracy at the tees and this asset of his can place him at a spot where other players will have to remain cautious of him.
Kris Blanks
He has recently finished the Q-School and is making few headlines as he was the runners–up at the Puerto Rico Open, 5th at the Hilton Head while 9th at the Travelers Championship. Blanks holds the record of being 4th in hitting the Greens in Regulation and 6th in Ball Striking so one can presume that he will deliver some good putting against other players who will be tired after attending some big events. Blanks also posted a 62 in the second round of the Wyndham Championship last year which means that he has the potential of dropping few good players off the leader board and making his way up.
Other than these three, another player also on the list is Ryan Moore who is the defending champion and holds the record of 81% in hitting the greens in regulation and 79% in hitting the fairways.
This was the betting preview of those players who are presumed to seize the next top 3 positions after no. 1 on the leader board. The Wyndham championship is in the air which means a good treat is on the plate for the fans with a sweet tooth for golf.
