My Dad loves horse racing. Is there anywhere I can but him betting gift vouchers (for use in southern England)? He doesn’t use internet so no point opening an-online betting account for him and so I though gift vouchers that he can used either at his local betting shop or at a race meeting?

Thanks!

  1. I think that would be fine.  You could go in the store and ask if they could give you a refund if he doesn't use them.

  2. Get him to use internet as there are so many free bets available out there, it would make it worth his while. It is utter folly to buy any kind of gift vouchers unless you can get them at a discount as you pay good cash for them and yet they are less valuable than cash so what is the point?

  3. Go and put a bet on any non-runner with the company that he uses most (Ladbrokes, Hills etc).

Send him the ticket and he can claim the return and use it for a bet.

  4. I'm not sure about gift vouchers for one thing there would be the issue of change etc.

How about one of those pre-paid debit cards?

I think you can get them without giving details so you could get them for someone else.

You'd have to check that his bookmaker would accept this.

It would mean he could put lots of little bets on.

I think you can get them for a fiver with no monthly fee.
