Betting odds of Castello Masters
Castello Masters will be kicking off tomorrow (21st October, 2010) in Valencia at Club de Campo del Mediterraneo. The event carrying a purse of $ 2 million will be divided into a field of 135 players. However, who will win the prize money
is the question that needs to be pondered on. To decide the possible winner, here is the betting preview of the Castello Masters, 2010.
Soren Kjeldsen
He is not much of a big hitter, but he is the best man on the course, with his straight shots. In 2008, the 35-year-old Danish posted a round of 64 in the start to take the fourth spot on the leader board. Moreover, he was second in driving accuracy and
seventh in greens hits in regulation. These stats indicate his ease with the course.
However, last year he missed the cut to Club de Campo del Mediterraneo, but this time he has made it to Valencia and looks better than ever. Looking at his finishes in Europe, one notices that the courses here, suit the game of the player. He won two of
his European tour events in Spain and finished in a commendable spot at the Portugal Masters. Soren was third in driving accuracy, greens hits in regulation, putts per round, total putts and sand saves. Prior to the event, he seized the third place in Vivendi
Cup and sixth in the Andalucía Open.
Alex Noren
Next man on the list is the 28-year-old Swede. There are several reasons behind his possible victory. Firstly, he has been here in the past, which means he must have a fair idea of the course. Secondly, like Soren he too enjoys a good compatibility with
the courses of Europe, he won the 2009 Omega European Masters, followed by six top-25s in seven events. Moreover, he finished third in 2008 in the same event.
The Swede changed his swings this year, as he was having trouble finding greens. The issue was not regarding the length or accuracy, but he could putt well. So he decided to bring a change, which ultimately bought a remarkable improvement in his putting
and iron play. The player himself accepted the fact and wrote this in his blog. He wrote, “felt great at Dunhill and in Austria".
The other reason for his victory is Johan Edfors being absent from the tournament. Both the golfers share a good chemistry and that is why they are found partying on the tours. This time Edfors won’t be seen teeing off, which indicates that finally Alex
will get some time to ponder on his game.
The scoring average required for the winner is 20-under, as the course is very easy to achieve. Alex chased this target last year at Omega European Masters when he declared a victory. According to the analysts, there is a trivial difference between both
the courses therefore, chances are that he will be able to record similar stats here.
Alvaro Velasco
This 29-year-old has an edge of playing on the home ground. The resident of Barcelona is predicted to fire a dozen birdies, the way he did at two other events on the Challenge tour. Moreover, he is in an excellent form, which indicates that it won’t be difficult
for him to achieve the target. The player holds a record of two victories this season, Kazakhstan Open and Fred Olsen Challenge de Espana.
In 2008, he finished in the 15th place, which is a good sign for his relevancy with the course.
If Velasco manages to declare a victory here, then who knows he might be the next, Edoardo Molinari or Rhys Davies.
This is it for the betting preview of the Castello Masters, which will take place in Valencia at Club de Campo del Mediterraneo. Apart from these players, Sergio Garcia will also be in the limelight, but as he has been out of sight in competitive golf, therefore,
not much can be said about the player.
