In our team of the decade, we have decided to choose the best player for each position. Although, it is not easy to choose the best player for each position, as rugby’s world is full of class players and we have seen lot of class players in last decade but
based on the performances, we have selected following players for ‘Rugby’s Test Team of the Decade.’
 
Position: Full Back
Player: Mils Muliaina
Country: New Zealand
Junior Malili Muliaina, who is commonly known as Mils Muliana is our selected player for the position of Full Back. He is the most dynamic and dependable full back, which rugby world has seen in this decade. With his great performance for Chiefs and New
Zealand, he has built a very strong reputation as the best no.15 player.
30 years old player was born in Salesi, Westren Samoa. He was moved to Invercargill with his family at the age of 2. He almost played at the all the levels. He was also the part of New Zealand’s under 21 side that won the world cup title back in 2000-01
and New Zealand’s 7s side, who won the Common Wealth Games gold medal in 2002.
He has great awareness of game and with his remarkable pace; he is very good at sparking a counter attack. Standing 6ft tall, this full back played his first game back in 2003 against England, since then he has played 89 matches for All Blacks, out of which
they won 74 matches with the average of 84.16%. He has scored 145 points in his career for all Blacks.
 
Position: Right Wing
Player: Doug Howlett
Country: New Zealand
Douglas Charles Howlett, with his great performances for Munster, Blues and New Zealand, is the player of the decade for the position of right wing. Although, he is specialist right wing but he has been playing many matches as fullback too, for All Blacks.
He was born in Auckland in 1978. He started playing rugby at school level and played for Auckland Grammar School. He was also captain of school’s athletic team.
He made his first- class debut at the age of 18. His international debut came in the year of 2000. Since then, he has scored 245 points for New Zealand in 62 matches.
His hat-trick against Italy in 2007 world cup took him to new glory and brought him level with the record of Christian Cullen. He also holds the record for the number of tries scored in Super Rugby with 49.
 
Position: Left Wing
Player: Bryan Habana
Country: South Africa
Bryan Gary Habana, Who plays for South Africa in international rugby, is the player of the decade for the position of left wing in the ‘Bettor.com, Rugby’s Test Team of the decade.’
27 years old, Benoni born player was one of the stars, who won world cup for South Africa in 2007. He was named International Rugby Board player of the year in 2007. He started his career as outside centre and scrum half but once he was moved to a wing a
huge improvement was seen.
He made his test debut for South Africa in the year of 2004, when he played against England, at the age of 21. Before his test debut, he had also played for South African Seven side in World Seven Series.
He has played 57 matches for his country since now and he has scored 180 points in his international career.
 
Position: Centre
Player: Brian O’Driscoll
Country: Ireland
Irish captain, Brian Gerald O’Driscoll, has been out standing at the position of centre since he made his international debut, which makes him best player of the decade for this position.
O’Driscoll was born in Dublin in 1979. He is highest international try scorer of this time; his total numbers of international tries are 41 at the moment. He played for both Ireland and British and Irish Lions.
In his early age, he used to play foot ball but then he moved to rugby. He started playing rugby form his school and he was selected in Ireland Schools in 1996. He also played for Ireland under-19 in 1998 and Ireland under-21 in 1999. He started his domestic
career in 1999 when he was selected for Leinster.
He made his international debut in 1999, when he was selected in the match against Australia at the age of 20. Since he made his international debut for Ireland, he has total played 103 matches for Ireland.
He has been received lot of tributes and award in his career. He was nominated for IRB World player of the year in 2001, 2002 and 2009.
