BETTOR.COM CONFIRMS NEW PUPPY ACQUIRED TO REPRESENT COMPANY
Bettor.com confirms today that it has acquired a new puppy after the retirement of Ibetx Dot Com, and he is already showing early signs of potential after reaching the semi finals for the Gymcrack at Hall Green that will be held tonight.
PR Manager for Bettor.com, Jayne Clarke, confirmed the acquisition, “We’ve been keeping an eye on this puppy for the past year and decided to officially make it a part of our team last month. He’s performed well in all the races we’ve entered him in so far so we’re really pleased. We’re all cheering him on and it’s good to have another dog representing our company.”
Previously named Droopy’s Puyol, Bettor Dot Com raced in Brighton and Hove earlier this month and is currently heading for a place in the final at the Newton Abbot Racecourse Gymcrack at Hall Green after easily securing a place in the semi-finals last Wednesday.
Jayne added, “Ibetx Dot Com held a fast pace from the start and proved to be one of the best in his class. We’re just watching Bettor Dot Com at the moment and hope he finds his own strengths in his own time. He’s certainly a fast runner and he’s already showing strong signs of potential so it’s very exciting.”
Last Wednesday Bettor Dot Com secured third place in heat 5, finishing in 29.17 seconds over the 480m track, three and a half lengths behind winner Magna Sparrow, after running out of trap 6. He beat Total Reality by two and a half lengths who was the favourite to win after his victory at the Bettor.com Peterborough Puppy Derby in April.
The draw for tomorrow’s semi-finals sees Bettor Dot Com running from trap 5 and up against heat winners Droopy’s Poirot, who stormed round the track in 28.49 seconds, and Bower Eagle, who led the way to finish in 29.06 seconds. Strong competition also comes from Flopsy Bunnytail, who completed the track in only 29.19 seconds, Melodys Light, who came in straight behind Flopsy by three quarters of a length, and Westmead Guru, who came in after Droopy’s Poirot in only 28.99 seconds.
Bettor Dot Com is being reared and trained by Tony Lucas, who says, “It’s going to be interesting to see what happens in this next race. He’s a fast dog. No doubt about it. But he’s just settling into the scene so it’s still early days. He’s already got off to a good start though and although he’s in trap five we think he’s got the potential to get to the next stage.”
Earlier this month at Brighton and Hove, Bettor Dot Com showed early signs of potential by securing third place after starting in trap six and finished only one and three quarter lengths behind winner Tipp Are Back at a time of 28.51 seconds over 470m.
Ibetx Dot Com, who is now retired from racing but was well known as one of the UK’s leading sprinters, is from a family of winners. His best times were seen in the 285m, which he completed in 15.99 seconds, the 297m, which he easily achieved in 17.77 seconds, and the 480m, which he completed in 28.7 seconds.
