Bettor.com continue to find the winners
When celebrating a monumental triumph, there’s two ways you can go about it. Stay quiet, privately basking in the glory while publicly maintaining your dignity - or climb to the highest rooftop and let the whole world know your achievement.
Here at bettor.com we like to think that we don’t need to tell you what category we fall into. We’ve got too much class for that.
Last night saw St Leger semi-final action from Wimbledon and bettor.com's resident in-form tipster continued to be the thorn in the layers’ side, as he produced a scintillating double which paid a rewarding 12-1. This latest success sits proudly alongside a 66% strike rate in all major televised finals so far this season – not forgetting two straight tri-casts picks for the Irish Derby semi-finals which both paid out at odds of excess of 25-1. But as I mentioned, we don’t like to blow out own trumpet here at bettor.com.
London-based trainer Paul Donovan’s dreams of training a classic winner at his local track took a step closer to becoming a reality as Droopys Bradley stormed to success in the first semi-final of the evening. It was a performance full of bold statements as he surged to the top of the ante-post markets by seeing off his opponents by over four lengths in a time of 41.89sec.
The winner was as sharp as ever from the boxes and outpaced Lottes Girl early on to grab the rail alongside Shaws Dilemma, but motored past the b***h at halfway and kept on finding in the home straight, in what was an eye-catching run. Despite the confusion surrounding whether he broke the track record, it was later revealed that a new record had been registered, knocking ten spots of previous holder Corrig Vieri (41.97sec). Blonde Blitz recovered from a sloppy start to finish second and he will be joined in the final by Oaks winner Shaws Dilemma, who despite breaking rapidly, lost ground mid-way through and looked to be crashing out until finding extra reserves in the final strides to deny Baran Pimlico third place.
He Went Whoosh did just that in the second semi-final, destroying the field which included the well backed Kinda Easy, who tailed off a disappointing last. The Claude Gardiner’s trained runner put the competition to bed with a race-changing move round the fourth bend as he moved across Razzmatazz to go onto score by four and a quarter lengths ahead of Bower Hawk, who came from the back of the pack late on. Razzmatazz continued to struggle to make any significant headway in the final 100 yards, but his early position meant he held onto third to make Tuesday’s final.
Trap draw for Tuesday's final: 1 Droopys Bradley, 2 Razzmatazz (m), 3 Bower Hawk (m), 4 Shaws Dilemma (m), 5 He Went Whoosh (w), 6 Blonde Blitz (w).
