Bettor.com’s Prediction of Arsenal starting eleven against Spurs
Arsenal have a chance to go top of the Barclays Premier League for the first time this season, as they welcome their fierce North London rivals Tottenham Hotspurs in the weekend’s first game.
Nonetheless, here is Bettor.com’s prediction of Arsenal starting eleven.
Goalkeeper
Arsenal first-choice keeper, Manuel Almunia, has finally returned to full fitness. However, Almunia’s deputy Lukasz Fabianski is in immense form and he would start for the Gunners against Spurs. Some would suggest that Lukasz Fabianski
is now Arsenal’s number one but the decision still remains to Arsene Wenger.
Defenders
Arsenal’s defensive leader is still out of action due to Achilles injury which he suffered on International duty while playing for Belgium. Moreover, Arsenal summer signing, Laurent Koscielny is still serving a three match ban, which he
got for his straight red card two ago.
The current scenario ensures that Arsenal imposing Swiss, Johan Djourou, and summer signing, Sebastien Squillaci, would start for the Gunners in the heart of defence. As usual, Bacary Sagna would take his place on the right flank and Arsenal
veteran left back, Gael Clichy would sustain his place on left side. This ensures Sebastien Squillaci and Johan Djourou will once again partner one another for the clash.
Moreover, Arsenal’s second left back, the English Kieran Gibbs, who played against France in 2-1 defeat, would surely be on bench for Arsenal.
Midfielders:
Arsenal’s talismanic skipper Cesc Fabregas, who also played for Spain against Portugal, is full fit and would lead Arsenal to take over their fierce rival, Spurs, at Emirates. Last time, when Spurs visited Emirates, Cesc Fabregas stunned
the world with his solo run from half line and scored the goal.
As always Cesc Fabregas would start as an attacking midfielder and behind him the veteran defensive midfielder of Arsenal, Alex Song would take his role on the right side of the midfield.
Moreover, Arsenal’s English midfielder prodigy, Jack Wilshere has been declared fit and would play alongside Alex Song as a left defensive midfielder.
However, the young Frenchman Abou Diaby is still out of action due to injury which he suffered back in September. This would give chance to Denilson and Thomas Rosicky to be on bench against Tottenham Hotspurs.
There is also an update on Arsenal midfielder, Aaron Ramsey. It has been reported that he has got back to full training and would play Arsenal’s next reserve game though he is not fully fit.
Forwards
The French prodigy, Samir Nasri, who has been in immense form this season and also played midweek’s friendly match for France, would start on the right of the attack as a right winger and will also drift in and out of the central midfield.
Moreover, Arsenal summer signing Marouane Chamakh would retain his place as a sole striker ahead of Robin van Persie.
Moreover, it was also confirmed that Nicklas Bendtner would not feature in this match not even as a substitute. However, Arsenal’s veteran left winger, Andrei Arshavin would retain his place despite playing for Russia during midweek’s
friendly.
However, speedy English winger, Theo Walcott, would take his place on bench and would feature against Spurs as an impact substitute.
In addition to that, Robin van Persie is also likely to start on bench. Although, Persie played for Netherland in their recent friendly against Turkey but he has to wait for his first start after returning from injury.
