rate of 52.27, which was well supported by the 844 classy boundaries and 41 effortless sixes he struck.
He contributed with the ball as well, as he has 59 test wickets at an average of 41.16. He had maintained a strike rate of 82.2 and an economy rate of 3.00. The veteran had a best of 5 for 40 in a single inning, which was the only five wickets haul he managed
taking.
However, he had a better bowling average in ODI cricket, which was 34.56, as he took 85 wickets in 244 matches. He was considered to be an economical bowler, and even in the limited over game the veteran had only managed one five wickets haul, as his best
figures were of 5 for 24.
From the 244 ODI matches he played, the veteran scored 8500 runs, at a batting average around 40.00. Mark had 18 centuries and 50 half-centuries, with a best of 173 runs. He had a healthy strike rate of 76.90, as he had 651 boundaries and 57 smashing hits
out of the park, under his belt.
Mark Waugh falls in the ranks of the finest test and ODI openers’ the world arena has ever seen. His classy stroke-play and effortless capabilities to strike boundaries and sixes surely makes him a well-deserved candidate for the top ten class batsmen from
1990 onwards.

By far he is considered to be the finest entertainers of the game. His maturity and temperament are the two attributes which led to the enormous contributions he has made for his national cricket team.
