  1. It isn't greed at all, it’s called capitalism. It works 100% times better than socialism and communism every single time it's tried.

I have a question for you....As a Taxpayer in the US, why should I have to pay for your sick family members when they get sick and don't have any health insurance or any money??? Isn't that your responsiblity???

And would you be willing to give up some or all of your hard earned $$$ (even down to your very last penny) to take care myself and of all of my relatives when we get sick???

Be honest now. Something for you to think about.

  2. The American Government (along with most Americans) believe that the most effective AND cost-effective way to provide ANY service to the people (including healthcare) is through free-market economics.  And as an ex-Pat Brit who grew up under the wasteful & inefficient National Healthcare system in the UK, and then moved to the USA (where I subsequently got (and was successfully treated for) cancer, I have to tell you I would probably be dead if I had stayed in the UK, since the diagnostic tests that found my cancer were run on equipment the National Healthcare system cannot afford.

(BTW, there is no apostrophe in "it's citizens", an apostrophe in the word "it's" is ALWAYS indicative of a contraction of "it is"...)

  3. Do you not recall the horrors of the DMC?

  4. Greed? We already can't pay for the social programs we have.

Besides that? Only a moron would want to put our hospitals in the hands of the same people who run the dmv.

Took me two weeks just to get my license plate.

  5. Where in the constitution does it say the government is responsible for your health or your children's health? It's time for you to take responsibility for your actions, and provide for your family. Greed has nothing to do with it. Get a job.

  6. I think A_Wood needs to realize that the free clinics aren't everywhere in every state. They make the excuses that they need the money for wars. They put the money that could be used for extra  national health services into paying for the men and the ammo and shelter for the men at war but they also give ammo and guns to kids in other countries to kill others for our diamonds and oil and stuff like that. And it

's not gonna be available online Mr.A_Wood about the secretive stuff they won't tell the u.s of a citizen.

now if you'll excuse me I got to check on my blood pressure....the law sometimes sends my blood pressure up.

  7. they spent all the money, creating inflation and massive debt in every corner. they can only reform what is left. medicare must be pared down and serve as the only form of health care. that is the only way. they spend too much and the ama and drug companies own the GD politicians. perfect corruption situation. sickening.

  8. You ought to be careful about calling other people ignorant - your comments show you know little to nothing about the subject.  Although it sounds like a good idea on the surface, there are two major problems with it:

1 - You have to grow a huge government bureaucracy to administrate and maintain it.  This not only costs a huge amount to tax payers, but it gives government sole control over an individual's health decisions.  Government would decide what kind of tests you need and when, and would take control of medical decisions away from your doctor.  Imagine what this does to your right to privacy - - if you have AIDS for example, or another communicable disease - do you actually think the government would be interested in protecting your privacy, above interests of insurance companies?  Think again.

2 - In virtually every western country in which Universal Health Care exists, quality suffers greatly.  That is largely due to the government control discussed above.  In Canada, for example, you are on a waiting list for months for something that takes a few weeks here.

I have direct personal experience with the Universal Health Care systems in Denmark and in France.  In both cases, there is little control left to the consumer, and the quality suffers compared to the freer system of the U.S.

So "GREED" has nothing to do with it.  We as a nation are working toward finding a unique system where health care is more affordable without giving over control to the government.

  9. We do.  There are these magical places called "free clinics".  They're called that, because they don't cost the patients any money out of pocket to visit.  I suggest you do some amount of research before inventing talking points.

  10. in britian ours is free and seems to work good drugs 2

  11. If you don't mind your taxes being raised close to 40% of your wages, and having to wait several years like my mother did to have a cataract removed from one eye, and my younger sister who now walks with a limp as a result of having to wait TWO YEARS for extensive back surgery (she now walks with a limp) then I guess government controlled universal health care is of no consequence to you. The United States still has the best health care system in the world even though it is by no means without problems. Don't even think about the Canadian health care system. It is no "model" for this country to follow, and if it's the line that Michael Moore wishes to stand in line in....rather him than me!

  12. *standard republican flame post*

  13. Greed is the reason people want the government to force others to pay for their living.

There is this silly little illusion that we as a society can consume more than we produce as long as that wealth is first redistributed by the government.

We aren't Europe.  We are America.  We have freedom here, not fealty to the state.

  14. We shouldn't have "national health care"; all it is is the lowest standard of care, to the most people. I can't take that, as I have a chronic condition which needs as good care as I can get.

  15. Beyond Greed, why do you think anyone demands national health care?  There are already programs as well as the free clinics to help those in poverty.
