Bhaltair expected to be dominant in Pershore Plum Festival Land O´Plums Handicap Chase
Bhaltair is in a very good position to claim the Pershore Plum Festival Land O´Plums Handicap Chase at Worcester in England on Tuesday, July 31, 2012. A victory in the class-3 event will earn his owner, Boretech, a cash prize of £3,899 in the end.
Only five runners have been attracted towards the 2 mile, 110 yard event, which is scheduled to start at 18:50 GMT. Furthermore, the going is good, despite some rain in the past one day.
Looking at the overall statistics of all participants, the best chances of victory appear to be with Bhaltair, who has got a decent record over hurdles. His form in the ongoing season has also been impressive, which will encourage the punters to place bets
on him. Moreover, the bookies have got a lot of confidence in his skills, thus have given him a general starting price of 15 to 8.
The six-year-old gelding made his debut at the start of 2011, but was unable to complete his first couple of races. This was a bit disappointing for his team, but things started getting better for him with the passage of time.
The Donald McCain’s trainee brought up his maiden victory in June last year, despite not being rated as the favourite to win back then. He was priced 3 to 1 by the bookmakers and did a decent job in the end, winning by 2¼ lengths.
Since then, the young runner has been producing some consistent results at different levels. He started off the 2012 season on a good note, finishing fourth in a couple of back to back events. He was certainly capable of doing a lot better than that and
proved it in the next few races.
Bhaltair was successful in his penultimate race, where he was rated as the outright favourite to win. He did not allow anyone to come closer back then and gained a lead of 11 lengths before crossing the finish line.
Great Palm’s son was again given the best odds for victory in his most recent run, but had to settle for third that time around. He will need an improved run under veteran jockey, Jason Maguire, in order to take the top spot at Worcester.
