Bhutan v Malaysia – Asian Cricket Council Trophy Elite 2012 (Group A) – Match Update

on October 9.

led the charge.
Bhutan’s innings featured just three batsmen who managed to reach double-digit scores – wicketkeeper batsman Tshering Dorji (13), Suprit http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pradhan-c82439 (15), and Barun Wakhley (who came in at number 11 and top-scored for the team with a dismal 19). The remainder
of the batting order was unable to rise to the challenge posed by the Malaysian bowlers, and three batsmen – Kencho Norbu, Sonam Tobgay, and Phuntsho Wangdi – were all dismissed on duck.
Openers Kumar Subba and Thinley Jamtsho were both unremarkable, contributing just 5 runs each, while skipper Jigme Singye scored just 4. Dampo Dorji managed 2 before falling at the hands of Anwar Rahman, and Sanjeevan Gurung (9*) was the only one who managed
to hold his ground. By the end of 32 overs, Bhutan were all out at a paltry 84.
Predictably, the chase did not take the Malaysian batsmen long to complete, and despite the efforts of Jamtsho (4-0-28-1) and Wakhley (5-0-26-1), they got there within 13 overs, at the expense of just 2 wickets.
Malaysia’s openers http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hasan-c61990 off Jamtsho, and Arudin by Wakhley.
The following duo of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Suhan-Kumar-c91680 (10*), however, took it from there, setting up an unbeaten 58-run partnership for the 3rd wicket, which easily got Malaysia over the finish line, enabling them to reach 88 with 8 wickets
still in hand, and 222 deliveries remaining.
