My friend has had migraines for the last forty years, massive ones, and he has just now been diagnosed with bi-polar, even though previously it was only diagnosed as depression. I was wondering if the migraines and bi-polar are interconnected somehow. thanks

  1. That's a question that's better asked of a doctor.  Stress can cause migraines, but so can things that are actually very dangerous like circulatory problems and things.  'Massive' migraines are potentially fatal if not properly treated, so a doctor should always be consulted if they become an issue.

  2. I wouldn't think so

  3. I don't believe so.  I do think that people diagnosed with the disorder can have the migraines, but not be the cause of it.

  4. Yes there might be! There is tons of research online on the subject. I am bipolar and have experienced migraines since childhood though never too severe and they have eased up in recent years.
