  1. Do some research-this question gets asked every week in this forum. There are no accredited universities or colleges that have a Men's studies minor or major-so YA is reflecting reality (I checked again a couple of months ago). On the other hand-there have been hundreds of Women's studies minors and majors since the 1970's (I got one in the 1970's) and many of those programs are now called Women and Gender studies or Gender studies or Gender and Sexuality Studies. But Men's studies on its own doesn't exist in an academic setting-so why would YA want to provide something that doesn't exist as a social science? YA started out with a Women's studies forum and updated it to Gender and Women's Studies after much whining about the lack of gender equity in the title. Has it changed the content of this forum? Not one iota. It's primarily feminists and anti-feminists.

If you think it's biased then why not try to discuss men's studies here and see the reaction you get? The feminists have been willing to discuss masculinism but the anti-feminists have mocked it and said that men's studies was for g*y guys or given the asker and answerers some other negative label. Good luck-it would be a refreshing change to see intelligent positive questions asked about masculinism instead of the endless stream of negative questions about feminism-which I don't define as gender studies.

btw: Here's a definition of gender studies: Gender studies is a field of interdisciplinary study which analyzes the phenomenon of gender. Gender Studies is sometimes related to studies of class, race, ethnicity, sexuality and location.[

  2. to be quit honest everything is sexist! im a 16 year old girl and im smart enough to see that america is becoming sexist! last year we had guest speakers come in yalking about domestic abuse they said that they had safe houses for women and children i raised my hand and said why dont we have safe houses for men and she said it wasnt as common. ok so if a man is abused and has no where to run it doesnt matter becaus hes the minority! the womens rights started off for a good reason now they are just feminazis! we have finally reached the breaking point a lawyer stood up and said your honor my client is to pretty to go to jail! what the h**l has happened to america?

  3. Last time I checked, above dude...there are still these crazy things called Fraternities. I'm pretty sure those are men only. At least they are where I come from.

  4. Several universities teach Gender and Men's Issues.

Speaking from experience, I find it funny that men feel discriminated against.

As an attorney, I feel that men have had some problems with alimony, child custody, and being accused of child molestation and rape erroneously.  I have even represented some men with great results.

There are other men's issues, such as the role of parenting boys and girls, men and health, men and romantic feelings, even violence and why men are so much more violent than women and such.

However, this is a male society.  It benefits men, without question, far more than women. If you doubt that, email me and give me a while I will certainly prove this.

Whenever I hear this kind of thing I think it sounds like a hypothetical Bill Gates whining about bias in paying taxes or fees or something, or the President complaining he is not powerful or something.

  5. Good point. You just can't win. You can have women's only gyms, but no mens' only clubs. Crazy huh? And if you are a white man, good luck, you are labeled the Root of All evil!!
