Bible gods word?

If the bible was the word of God... why is there so many versions.  why was it not assembled untill the 4th century (Catholic)  Prodastant 15th century containing less books.  

The bible is a book.. nothing more.. God is the word and the Word is God... God cannot be kept in things made with mans hands.  Denominations exist due to Christians building on an incomplete book instead of building on the solid foundation.  GOD!... they have made the book their God and in doing so made false God's for them selves...
