  1. The Bible is not like a novel, it's a book to be STUDIED, it's the means by which God reveals Himself to man and also His plan for this earth and its people. So, not everything is easy to understand when you first read it. But the more you read it the more you will have "aha" moments and be able to connect the dots.

Some prophecies are quite obvious and easy to understand, others are described in symbolic language.

Here are two of the obvious ones. You can see at first sight that they relate to Jesus.

Isaiah 7:14 “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.” (Immanuel= God with us).

Isaiah 9:6 “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."

  2. Have you ever read a mystery where clues were throughout the book and sometimes you had to refer back to a previous section to reread what happened and that gave you something to add to what you are now reading to help solve the mystery?

That is how the Bible is. It is a VERY interesting and challenging book. Meant to stimulate our thinking processes.

It actually makes apparent those who are willing to go the extra measure to find the meaning and significance to a prophecy or an account or parable.

It shows our depth and appreciation of what has been communicated for our instruction.
