Bicycle Chain pops/slips in high stress?

I have a new road bike, and I just changed a tube on the rear wheel. Everything had been working fine, but now when the rear derailer is in the final gear 7 and i put high pressure on the chain like going up a hill, it will pop/slip, but thats all it does. Maybe the limit should be adjusted on the rear derailer, or could it be something else?

  1. i think it might be something else

  2. You could have a bent link in your chain.. I mountain bike, and when i was pedaling hard up a big hill my chain fell off. I took it to a shop and they said the chain had a kink in it and that was causing it. It could be your deraileur. Your cassette could be bent. But the cheapest fix would be the new chain
