I got a city bicycle that only has 7 gears..when i got it i thought was its actually 21 but somehow called differently due to the reasonably high price and brand name..now it occured to me what if its really 7?do i have third the power of a cheap bicycle with 21 and most have 21 and as you know having 21 gears is not considered luxury?i thought i was smart and modern getting a city bike and didnt intend to sacrifice power..was worried the mountain one wouldnt be so good for city ride..whats going on here?..i only have a rear shifter but when i saw the cassette it seemed like the one all of the bicycles have so i wasnt worried..please tell me what i lost here?i was offered a more expensive one that had 24 and didnt take it..so now i have like quarter of the power for riding?..i dont get it because the crank looks regular to me?..

  1. If you only have one chainring (front gear) then it's 7 speed. If you have 3 chainrings, then it's 21. If you're going to be riding mostly around town and not doing any long tours or races, then 7 speeds will probably be OK.   Even on a 21 or 24 speed bike, you would only use 6 or 7 of the gears about 80% of the time anyway.  Your gears will be OK, you just won't have as many super low or super high hears as a 21 speed.

  2. Wow, please learn to use the English vocabulary properly. I have pretty much NO IDEA what you're trying to convey.
