  1. The absolute leader in bike racks is Saris.  I just bought mine.  Just click bike racks on the site and you can enter the year and make of your vehicle and they will give you compatible racks.  Also they all have life time warranties and are completely rust free.  They are made environmentally recycled materials and sturdy enough to hold my son at 100 lbs  They come assembled.  You just have to adjust the straps.  i got mine a week ago and it is GREAT!

I got the Bones 2.  It holds two bikes.  Comes assembled great on sedans.

This is a great investment.  Best bike racks on the market are here.  Do not go anywhere else.

    LIFE TIME WARRANTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Truck rack. They can be had at any bike shop, sports stores, discount stores and many on-line stores.

  3. It's called a bike rack.

Lots of options, but receiver hitch mount racks on which you don't "hang" your bike are the best bet.

The trunk mount types run the risk of damaging both the bike and your car.  Roof mounts are expensive and there are two kinds of people who have them, those who have already driven into the garage with them, and those who haven't yet.

I'm giving you a link to my favorite one, which happens to be on sale this week.  It has a 1 1/4" tube but includes an adapter for a 2" receiver.

If you don't have a receiver hitch on your car already, try the second site.  I think the one for my daughter's Honda Civic cost me $60.00.  Took about 30 minutes to install, but not for a beginner.

If this is all too much cost and bother for you, then buy an inexpensive truck/rear mount rack and be VERY CAREFUL using it.  See the last link for ideas.
