Bid day party?

I am planning our bid day party. In the past we have always done something pool related, but that gets kind old/uncomfortable for the girls. Also you run across the factor of the girls that don't socialize that well in a bathing suit with new people.. Any thoughts?? btw its at the end of August so the temp is nice and our t-shirt theme is more southern gal-Lilly Pulitzer type

  1. Can you explain what a bid day is? How old are the guests? And you have a t-shirt theme - I know who Lily Pulitzer is, so it sounds like neon pink and green, cute/humorous, and glamorous? (Not so clear on "southern gal" - maybe ladylike, bows, cardigans, pearls?) What types of ideas do you need - decorations? games? food?

Oh, so this is for incoming freshman women.

They just had a high-heel race in Moscow. It might be hard to get guests in high heels, but maybe you could do an egg race (egg in a spoon) in flip-flops. Or have them race with a pitcher full of pink-dyed water, and they have to pour it into a glass on a white tablecloth.

You also MUST do something with inflatable alligators; they're so silly. If not a pool race on alligators, then...dress them up with wigs and clothes and makeup? And have a cute guy pick out which gator he wants for the night's date. It's pretty silly and can break the ice.

Lily Pulitzer...How about buy some cheap purses and play money, and have the girls scoop as much money off the grass as they can within a time limit. Or give them some cheap plastic pearls and they have to use the pearls to snatch a pair of fake Dior sunglasses off a balcony. (The solution would be to tie the pearls together and use someone's gum to try to snag the sunglasses.)

I'll tag this question as Interesting, and hopefully that will bring some more attention to the question and you'll get more responses. :D

This sounds like a lot of fun; I wish I could be there!
