Bidding war for Craig Bellamy and Cesc Fabrégas will come to Barcelona
Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy is set to leave the club this summer.
However, City have refused to let Bellamy join Tottenham Hotspur on loan and Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp will now enter a bidding war for Bellamy’s services with new Fulham boss Mark Hughes. Redknapp will also let Peter Crouch leave White Hart Lane, with the striker set to cost any prospective new club around £7million.
Manchester City striker Roque Santa Cruz will leave City as well, and Fenerbahçe and Olympiakos are vying for his signature in a possible loan move.
Former Manchester United striker Giuseppe Rossi could make his way back to Old Trafford, as Manchester United put a buy-back clause of £6.7million when they sold him to Villarreal three years ago.
World player of the year Lionel Messi believes Arsenal captain Cesc Fabrégas will join him at Barcelona at the Camp Nou this season. Fabrégas’ future at Arsenal is still uncertain, but manager Arsène Wenger is confident the 23-year-old Spaniard will stay.
Werder Bremen playmaker Mesut Özil will stay at the club for another season, meaning he will leave on a free transfer when his contract expires next summer. Özil has been linked with moves to the Premier League and La Liga after being one of the stars for Germany at the World Cup.
Aiden McGeady is set to leave Celtic, and Spartak Moscow have already bid £9.5million for the Ireland international. McGeady didn’t take part in the second game of the Emirates Cup yesterday, and didn’t play in their Champions League qualification defeat to Braga last week.
Blackpool’s bid of £1million for DJ Campbell has been turned down by Leicester City, while Hull City manager Nigel Pearson wants John Bostock on loan from Tottenham, and Wolves striker Sam Vokes is holding talks with Crystal Palace.
