“Until Ander Herrera's sending off, everything was good for us. We were beating a major rival. We defended with great effort and sacrifice, but as the game unfolded, we couldn't hold on to the win,” he told a press conference.
He also talked about how difficult it was for his team to defend and hold on to the lead when the ball was not with them and the other team was dominating ball possession.
“It is always a risk to defend without the ball for a long time,” he added.
Meanwhile, he also commented on the performance displayed by his midfielder, Aritz Aduriz, who scored the two goals for them.
“He played very well. His performance was extremely valuable to us,” he concluded.
Finally, Athletic Bilbao have now slipped to the 16th position in the table and their star player, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Llorente-c13671, is yet to start a match this season as he was again left on the bench last night.
