The Argentine tactician could not hide his joy as Los Leones recovered from 2-1 at the hour mark to register a sensation 2-4 away Europa League win against Schalke.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Raul-c30652 brought his team back into the match with a double salvo at
the hour mark.
However, with the score at 2-1 in the favour of the Bundesliga side, Los Leones picked up pace of the match as Llorente scored his second of the night.
It was one way traffic after that, as Bilbao’s home grown prodigies, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Iker-Muniain-c16816, gave the visitors a two goal cushion, virtually sealing a place in the semi-finals of the Europa League.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marcelo-c23554 Bielsa was understandably ecstatic as Athletic Club routed last year’s UEFA Champions League semi-finalists. Strangely, the former Chilean national team manager sat on the bench for most of the match but jumped with happiness as Muniain’s shot hit
the back of the net for the fourth goal.
Contrary to the reading of the score board, Bielsa admitted that it was a tough fixture where they tried to catch up with Schalke and only dominated their hosts in the final minutes of the match.
"Throughout the game we found it very hard not to unbalance them. We made it somehow, but defensively we had to solve many situations they created. In the last half hour, the team marked differences."
"Schalke were difficult to neutralize with their offensive power. We struggled to avoid that and they had so many chances. That was our difficulty. But in the second half we had what we lacked in the first set of attacks.”

With 9 league matches remaining, Bielsa’s men need to get a positive result after falling to 11th place in Primera Division rankings, being 9 points adrift of Champions League qualification slot.
